Direct Sowing: For direct sowing, plant Upland cress seeds outdoors in early spring or fall when temperatures are cool. Sow seeds ¼ inch deep, spacing them 3 inches apart in rows 12 inches apart. Germination typically occurs within 5–7 days. Water regularly to keep the soil consistently moist, as dry conditions can lead to premature bolting and a stronger, more bitter flavor.

Early Sowing for Seedlings: To start early, sow Upland cress seeds indoors 4–6 weeks before the last frost.
