Direct Sowing: For direct sowing, plant Sweet Dani basil seeds outdoors after the last expected frost when the soil temperature is consistently above 65°F. Sow the seeds about ¼ inch deep and spaced 12 inches apart in rows that are 18–24 inches apart. Germination typically occurs within 7–14 days. Keeping the soil consistently moist is essential during this period to encourage healthy growth. Once seedlings are established, thin them to provide adequate airflow and prevent overcrowding. You can begin harvesting leaves when they reach approximately 3–4 inches long, taking care to remove no more than one-third of the plant at a time.
